Let’s head three miles north to Treasure Island for the “Best Cuban Sandwich in Tampa Bay” at The Floridian. You know they mean business when their tall sign specifically mentions “authentic Cuban sandwiches.” There’s no denying that The Floridian is a dive, but they’re cooking something special in the kitchen. The Toasted Monkey rests on the edge of lively St Pete Beach – you can reach the beach by following a sizable path from the back patio. The fun atmosphere adds to the allure, but there’s no denying that this tasty sandwich is one of the best in the area. The bread, which is the key here, is purchased from Tampa’s historic La Segunda Bakery. This Cuban sandwich is “not to be missed,” as our guests often proclaim.
